In the heart of Atlanta rests the beloved “Fabulous” Fox Theatre, which has hosted the likes of artists from Elvis Presley to Pearl Jam. Known for its stunning architecture and rich history, it has become something of a legend in the south. Because of this, there couldn’t have been a better place for Korean pop group Xikers to hold their first show in Atlanta, Georgia on May 12th. It should be noted that this world tour is the first with all ten members present, as Junghoon has been on hiatus for some time while recovering from an injury. This alone had the fans (which are known to Xikers as “Roady”) overwhelmed with joy and excitement.

Between the faux night sky ceiling and the classic theatre experience, the atmosphere was already set before the show began. As the lights dimmed, and the ten-member group made their way on stage, the audience erupted. The energy did not stop from there on out. The show kicked off with ‘XIKEY’, which is one of their most listened to tracks. The group’s chemistry was clear immediately– there was a certain flow about them that comes only from immense passion and willingness to work together. They were wonderfully in sync and showcased complex choreography performed with undeniable skill from each and every member. Their vocal talent is top-notch, but their dancing is what truly sets them apart from other groups’ live performances.

The group also used props in a way that took their already interesting stages to the next level. From umbrellas and school bags, they did what was needed to emphasize the point of their choreography and lyrics. It served them well and created a fun environment that kept the audience engaged. Alongside their own hit songs, such as “Red Sun,” “Koong,” and “WITCH,” they also performed a few covers! Jinsik, Hyunwoo, Junghoon, and Seeun performed an immaculate rendition of Justin Bieber’s “Holy.” This vocal cover was immediately followed by a choreography cover of Tkay Maidza’s “Ring-a-Ling,” complete with cowboy hats and chairs.

The show concluded with “TRICKY HOUSE,” which was met with significant enthusiasm from both the members and the audience. After hearing this song all over social media, I can confirm that it is even more energetic in person. After “TRICKY HOUSE,” there was a period of time before the encore where lyrics were put on the screen and the fans got to sing along. This was a fun way to entertain the audience while the group got ready for their last few songs.

They came back on stage with more casual, comfortable outfits and a few of their more laid-back songs, such as “Moonwalk” and “Sunny Side.” They finally concluded the show with their most recent release, “BREATHE.” This song was incredible. Sumin, who is one of the group’s rappers, especially stood out with his verse. All of the Xikers members bring something unique and valuable to the table, and Sumin is no exception with his distinct style. It will surely become one of Xikers’ defining features as time goes on.

This group, which continues to grow in popularity by the day, can be described as nothing other than impressive. There is something to be said for KQ Entertainment and the sheer quality of the work that their artists put out. Nothing was neglected, and because of that, Xikers stand out as one of the best live K-Pop performances to come through Atlanta in recent times.
